MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) PROGRAM
Find your wisdom to face stress, chronic pain, or illness in this acclaimed course. The next 8-Week Program meets Thursday evenings 6:00-8:30pm. September 30th to November 18th with an all-day retreat on Sunday November 7th. Completed application and instructor interview are required. Call or email anytime to arrange your application and interview. $290 by September 20th, 2010. $340 thereafter. You also receive a half-term (five) of our regular yoga classes with your MBSR registration as part of the curriculum. Learn More

This free 2-hour Orientation Course will help you understand what the MBSR 8-Week Program is all about. You will meet our teachers and learn some new things in our own safe, well-equipped classrooms. We will practice a few of the techniques you'll learn more about in the Program, and review MBSR's history, research and curriculum. You must interview with a teacher and apply if you plan to register for the MBSR Program. Bring your completed application if you intend to enroll. There will be time at the end of the class for your interview if you choose to register. Otherwise just come and learn something new and helpful with some nice people.

This will be at Bagley Park near downtown Hillsboro by student request. Brant will teach if those that show up would like an informal class. Bring your mat/blanket perhaps linger a bit with friends? Practice under the sky. Look for the tall guy on the lawn. All welcome.

MBSR 2: ONGOING PRACTICE FOR MBSR ALUMNI
Tuesdays beginning September 14th

Open to MBSR graduates to continue and evolve your practice. Come and practice together with weekly learning themes, talks and readings. Offering continuity as well as the possibility of periodically dropping in. Register as with other 10-week classes; do make-up classes in other yoga classes.

OPEN CLINIC & STUDIO EVENINGS WITH A TEACHER

An open time in our well-equipped studio for you to get some guidance about your yoga practice, therapeutic yoga, mindfulness practice, and more. Come with your questions. One-on-one with a teacher and then practice time for you. Use your make-up classes here if you wish.

STRESS REDUCTION AND RESILIENCE TRAINING

Learn and practice some elements of stress reduction programs that have been successfully employed in hospitals and clinics all over the world for three decades. This is an introduction to Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Training, MBSR. Audio CD and learning materials included.

YOGA THERAPY CLINIC: KNEES/ANKLES/FEET

Enhance awareness, resilience, and stability of the foundation. We will explore biomechanics, alignment, stability and strengthening to help stay healthy toes to knees. Taught by a licensed physical therapist.

HAPPY, HEALTHY HIPS
Saturday, October 9th
9-11 a.m.     $25
A fun workshop with a focus on hip opening stretches. Open hips can lead to increased athletic performance and less stress on the low back and knees. Taught by a licensed physical therapist. Appropriate for persons who are active.

SLEEP WELL
Saturday, November 6th
2-4 p.m.     $25
Practice restful yoga postures, gentle movement, and meditative practices that may help you recuperate, calm down and sleep a bit better, All welcome.

FORUM EVENING: MINDFULNESS IN MEDICINE DOCUMENTARY FILM
Saturday, November 6th

The Forum Course is our quarterly Saturday evening class that wraps the teaching curriculum for our registered students with contemporary American lifestyle. In Forum Evenings we review contemporary literature, film, news, psychology, science and medicine through the lens of yoga and mindfulness practice. This fall's Forum Evening will include the documentary film about mindfulness and medicine, Widening the Circle; Mindfulness in the World. It's a documentary about the 30 year history of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and its development at the UMass Medical School. Interviews with Jon Kabat-Zinn and other MBSR teachers and scientists are included with a global view of its science, medical research and more. The Forum Evening will include review, discussion and practice time together. Preregister is requested.

recuperative classes

Therapeutic & Adaptive Yoga
Special attention given to physical challenges and healing. Appropriate for those with movement impairments or living with illness as long as your physician has released you for gentle physical activity. Most of our poses are performed in a chair. (Pre-registration strongly recommended and permission required for drop-ins.)

Prenatal Yoga
A gentle practice tailored for the unique challenges and joys of pregnancy. Your physician should release you for general physical activity. (Pre-registration strongly recommended and permission of the teacher required for drop-ins.)

Gentle Yoga
A safe and friendly introduction to yoga, appropriate for those wanting to try an accessible form of yoga or for those who have had injuries in the past. We will practice movements that teach yoga alignment in ways that are available to most everyone. We will practice relaxation as well as develop strength and flexibility. Easy and modified yoga poses will be explored. Your physician should release you for general physical activity. (Pre-registration strongly recommended and permission of the teacher required for drop-ins.)

Restorative Yoga
A restful yoga practice that enhances our internal processes of healing. Simple supported postures with good alignment.

Beginning Yoga
The general form of poses, simple flow, introduction to yoga breathing and the practices of mindfulness.

Intermediate Yoga
Inversions, backbends, rigorous flow, and formal pranayama are introduced. Mindfulness during practice emphasized.

All Levels Yoga
Everyone welcome. Slower paced and individualized.

An energizing, non-impact workout with healing and joyful movement set to soulful music.

a way of systematically and thoughtfully finding your wisdom to face stress, chronic pain, or illness. Learn mindfulness meditation, therapeutic exercise, adaptive yoga, & sensitive breath work.

Registration: You can drop in to any class during the term. You can start classes any time during the term on a space-available basis and prorate cost of the term. Please print out the registration form below, and return it by mail. You may also register by arriving early to complete it on the first day of class but please call or email with your contact information to put yourself on the class roster. We accept cash and checks only.

class fees

Drop In Class: $10 (Drop in to any appropriate traditional level class on a space-available basis any time during the term. You must have permission of the teacher before dropping in to a Therapeutic or Prenatal class.)
10 week yoga term: One class per week $75
Two classes per week $135
Three classes per week $160
Holiday Term “ALL CLASS HOLIDAY PASS”: $30

Make Up Policy: Miss a class? Attend another class, send or bring a friend to class as your make-up during that term. Make-ups don't apply to workshops or series, they apply only to regularly scheduled classes.

Refunds of tuition are available for the first 2 weeks of the term, less a $15 cancellation fee.
